ROcktober for AGeD

Celebrating the International Day of Older Persons – October 2025

In 2025, the Association of Geriatric Dentistry (AGeD) observed the International Day of Older Persons with a month-long initiative titled “ROcktober for AGeD”, conceptualised by Dr. George P. John.

The celebrations aligned with the United Nations theme, “Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action: Our Aspirations, Our Well-Being, Our Rights.”

Across India and the GCC, AGeD members led free camps, academic programmes, webinars, and in-clinic initiatives, affirming that older adults are not passive beneficiaries of care—but active contributors to health, dignity, and community resilience.

Conclusion

ROcktober for AGeD 2025 demonstrated how a focused month of action can mobilise clinics, colleges, and communities in support of older persons. From rural camps and urban clinics to international webinars and global congresses, every initiative reflected AGeD’s core belief:

Older adults deserve care that protects their rights, preserves their abilities, and honours their lived experience.

Through ROcktober, AGeD members translated this belief into tangible action—one camp, one clinic, one conversation at a time.
